James Wilson is an analytical chemist with 20 years’ experience. Since joining Anamet in 2010, Jim has specialized in determining compositions of metals, alloys, and inorganic materials. He is responsible for the operation of WDSXRF, ICP, combustion IR, inert fusion, DR optical emission, and a wide variety of wet chemical methods.
Prior to joining Anamet, Jim was employed as a Laboratory Instructor in the Department of Chemistry at California State University, East Bay, and as a Chemist/Research Analyst in the Department of Tribology at Chevron Global Lubricants.

Recent projects in which Jim has been involved include:
- Created a quantitative XRF method to determine tin coating mass per unit area of tin-coated steels
- Developed methods for analysis of micro-scale samples of a variety of iron, nickel, copper, aluminum, and cobalt alloy matrices using microwave digestion for ICP spectrometry, IR combustion, and inert fusion analysis
- Developed complete analytic methodology for titanium alloy powders via ICP, IR combustion, and inert fusion
